Thefollowingactionscoulddamagethengerprintreaderorcauseitnottoworkproperly:
•Scratchingthesurfaceofthengerprintreaderwithahard,pointedobject.
•Scrapingthesurfaceofthengerprintreaderwithyourngernailoranythinghard.
•Usingortouchingthengerprintreaderwithadirtynger.
Ifyounoticeanyofthefollowingconditions,gentlycleanthesurfaceofthengerprintreaderwithadry,
soft,lint-freecloth:
•Thesurfaceofthengerprintreaderisdirtyorstained.
•Thesurfaceofthengerprintreaderiswet.
•Thengerprintreaderoftenfailstoenrollorauthenticateyourngerprint.

Besurenottomodifyyourcomputer
•OnlyanauthorizedThinkPadrepairtechnicianshoulddisassembleandrepairyourcomputer.
•Donotmodifyortapethelatchestokeepthedisplayopenorclosed.
Cleaningthecoverofyourcomputer
Occasionallycleanyourcomputerbydoingthefollowing:
1.Prepareamixtureofagentlekitchen-usedetergent.Thedetergentmustnotcontainabrasivepowderor
strongchemicalssuchasacidoralkaline.Usevepartswatertoonepartdetergent.
2.Absorbthediluteddetergentintoasponge.
3.Squeezeexcessliquidfromthesponge.
4.Wipethecoverwiththesponge,usingacircularmotionandtakingcarenottoletanyexcessliquiddrip.
5.Wipethesurfacetoremovethedetergent.
6.Rinsethespongewithcleanrunningwater.
7.Wipethecoverwiththecleansponge.
8.Wipethesurfaceagainwithadry,soft,lint-freecloth.
9.Waitforthesurfacetodrycompletelyandremoveanybersfromthecloth.
