b.) Accessing IPModule ports:

Auto-discovery (MAG) protocol is used to discover and query status of IPModule

products. It uses the configured server name, general line, and specific line details to

map the port implicitly.

i.) Mode is set to MAG,

Note: This mode is not valid for IPModule.

When the application opens the COM port, MCSI uses tcp protocol.

If Authentication is enabled, the Login details are used for transparent login mechanism

when any application opens the COM port.

Note:

1. Check the server status using colored dots in the window for authentication status before

opening the port. Transparent login can be done only if the authentication status is

successful.

2. If the server name is IPModule, the general name has to be set to “S0” and specific name

has to be set to “Direct” respectively.
